Badin Lake is located in the central part of North Carolina and within one hour from North Carolina's major cities, i.e., Charlotte, Greensboro, High Point, Thomasville, and Winston Salem and nearby, the capital city of Raleigh.
Surrounded by the Uwharrie National Forest, beautiful Badin Lake was constructed in 1917 by the Company of America (ALCOA) on the Yadkin River. The reservoir covers an area of 5,350 acres and has 115 miles of shoreline with a maximum water depth of 190 feet. Water fluctuations are minor.
